🇺🇸 Mycelium Tissue Culture Workshop @ Biotech Without Borders
Ever wondered how we went from foraging mushrooms to growing them for diverse uses like biomaterials and textiles? Now's your chance to learn!
Biotech Without Borders is hosting a hands-on workshop titled “How To Run Mycelium: A Fungal Tissue Culture Workshop”, led by Craig Trester, founder of MYC.NYC. This workshop is designed to teach you the essential laboratory techniques needed to cultivate mycelium, a critical component of fungal-based biomaterials.
Workshop Highlights:
Learn how to cultivate mycelium on agar for various uses, from mushroom cultivation to creating biological materials.
Gain hands-on experience with sterile techniques, media formulation, and creating a personal still air chamber from up-cycled materials.
Understand how fungi can be applied to alternative agriculture, bioremediation, and more.
Instructor: Craig M. Trester, a community scientist and mycologist, brings extensive experience in biomimicry and permaculture through mycology.
