Designing with Multispecies, BIO-ACCESS, The Biocreative Index, and more!

Hello Biodesign Community,

It's been a while since our first newsletter, but we're back—and we’re excited to make this a more regular affair. So, what’s been cooking in the field of biodesign over the past few weeks?

In Brief:

  • New publication on multispecies biodesign

  • Politecnico di Milano's new Master’s course on ecodesign.

  • Elle Macmillan’s BIO-ACCESS magazine launch.

  • Genetic Engineering Crash Course.

  • Biocreative Index launch.

  • Biodesign Academy Podcast

Biodesign Publication on Multispecies

A fresh paper by Eduard Georges Groutars (TU Delft), Raphael Kim, and Elvin Karana has just dropped in the International Journal of Design. It’s called Designing Living Artefacts for Multispecies Interactions: An Ecological Approach.

The paper explores the concept of multispecies biodesign through Interaction Webs, which explore Multiplicity, Connectivity, and Reciprocity between different species. This is a great read for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of biodesign’s ecological side.

Introducing The Biocreative Index

A couple of weeks ago, we saw the launch of The Biocreative Index, a directory that celebrates and lists people who operate at the intersection of biology and creativity.

The index is a valuable resource for hiring talent and connecting with like-minded creatives. Head over to biocreativeindex.com to start exploring. The team behind The Biocreative Index was created by a team consisting of Grace Chuang (project & creative direction), Nina Garcia (brand & design), and Alex Beige (website development).

🎙 Biodesign Academy Podcast
